Though far from the first webcomic I got into, RPG World was one of the earlier ones. Anybody who has ever played any sort of JRPG (especially anything SquareSoft/SquareEnix) will probably find this comic at least marginally funny, if not outright hilarious. Ian's artwork really improved over time, and he developed a nice, animation-type style. It's a simplistic and goofy style, but one that suits the comic's overall feel.

Unfortunately, as mentioned in a previous review, RPG World stopped updating shortly before the final climax (no cheesy sex jokes, please). While it is frustrating as a reader to be left hanging, I can understand - Ian finished school around that time and is now busy working in the animation industry. RPG World naturally was left on the back burner.

Still, an unfinished story is an unfinished story. If you can deal with being left hanging after 500+ pages of humor, drama and epic fantasy adventure, I'd highly recommend it for all the RPG fans out there. If not, better to skip this one.

This really is a great comic. Cool artwork, fantastic story, memorable characters... its a spoof of everything SquareSoft has ever done. I bring down the rating for one reason, that it was never finished. After reading through the entire archive in a glorious blur, I slammed headfirst into the stop sign RIGHT BEFORE THE FINAL BATTLE!!!!! Comic blueballs... never to be forgiven.

I love this comic. It's one of the first webcomics I got into. It's really a shame he never concluded it, but it does still offer a pretty extensive archive to read. Some of the game parodies really hit the nail on the head. And sometimes it's just downright funny. Otherwise, it's still a pretty solid fantasy/adventure comic.
