On Writing: The writting for the comic is deffinitely inspired by roleplaying sessions... being a part of many of them myself, I can recognize the goofball nature of RPers having fun. Whether this translates to well defined and dynamic characters remains to be seen. Out of all the characters Amulettes seems to be the only one who has a developed personality that makes her stand out from the others. Being such a young comic though, as time goes on the others will hopefully develop as well.

On Art: The artwork starts a bit shakey, but it certainly begins to firm up within the first ten pages with better linework and character proportions. While still needing to be refined it shows a lot of promise for future improvement. I was fairly disapointed that at the begining of the new scene the artwork seems to have suddenly switched to a more simplistic style... very good for the artist and their ability to keep up with the comic's production, but I'm not sure yet if it's a turn for the better or not in the grande scheme of things.

On Website: The website itself looks pretty good, a clean design that is easy to navigate with the comic right there for all to see. The right side of the page may get a bit cluttered with all it's buttons and links though, with it all taking up nearly a third of the page's content area. I personally would rather see the comic made a bit bigger and some of those items moved down further on the page. The focus of the site really should be the comic and not a dozen or so linkables. The good news is these things aren't overwhelming and can be pretty much ignored if you're just reading through the comic so if you want to archive dive it's still a smooth experience to be had.

Overall: Epic Fail is comic with a lot of potential floating just beneath the surface, but it's simply not there quite yet. Character development and consistancy of storyplot will be key things to get rolling on comic... as a reader I shouldn't have to read the author's comments to know what's going on; for example, while reading I completely missed the introduction of a love potion as a prank until I saw the mention of it in the author's notes. Perhaps a portion of these issues can be delt with in the pacing... the pages are filled with happenings, introducing characters, and banter that really didn't give me any info about the characters themselves, other than Amulettes as I had mentioned above.

As the comic very well showed it's very first page, Epic Fail has broken out of the starting gate at a full gallop just to run straight into a mob... if its taken down to a more leisurely trot that allows us to take in the sceanery though, I think it will be a much more enjoyable ride to be had.

The art is OK.
So far, most of the comic is characters arguing with eachother about random stuff. Their bickering is mildly funny, but doesn't develop the characters or seem to have any real bearing on the plot. Any information on the characters is in the written explanation under the comic, not the comic itself.

And yes, the comic is still new. Here's hoping it improves.

On Writing: She has some interesting gags in the story. Given how new the comic is, that's really good. Starting things off with a bang.
On Art: She draws in a very cartoony style which is appealing.
On Website: Her layout is very easy to navigate with colours that aren't difficult to look at.

This comic is poor.

The jokes are poor and what appears to have been funny in their roleplay sessions appears as "you had to be there" moments in the comic.

The authors need to explain every strip underneath makes me wonder why she doesn't just write a book rather than a comic at least then we wouldn't be struggling to cope with the awful artwork.

Epic Fail

Still in it's infancy, this comic promises to tell a rollicking good tale. Some interesting characters with lots of personality foreshadow a dark story which will quite likely contain a labyrinth and maybe even a goblin king! The artwork is well coloured and mostly accurate apart from the occasional dodgy hand or bug eye, and the text is clear and easy to read.

On the downside there appears to be some kind of android appearing which seems out of place...if the authoress is getting her inspiration from an actual fantasy game then whoever runs it should know better than to mix genres like this!
